Cleaning Industrial Floors, Machines & Vessels

Surface Defined

A strong, hard wearing floor surface is the best option in an industrial environment ie: concrete, painted concrete or Asphalt. Some applications may require the surface to be high performance, such as dustproof, chemically resistance or non-slip.

Main uses

All types of industry ie: automotive, aerospace, food, engineering foundry, mining and electronics. A general cleaning & maintenance programme is needed with the use of a scrubber dryer and sweeper. The area that requires cleaning and the time needed for the task will decide whether a pedestrian or ride-on machine is required.

Notes

There are many types of floor paints, screeds and coatings for this environment.

Ideally, the surface should be anti-slip, capable for use in hazardous areas, ramps, fire escapes and be chemical resistant as well as solvent free.

Some well known floor coatings and screeds for industrial floors are: The Floorsaver™ range which has the Surefoot™, EpoxyResin™ Dustproofer/Sealer, Epoxycote. The Addagrip™ range consists of:
Addaflor™, WDE 436 Pigmented, WBS Acrylic, SB Acrylic, Addalevel™, Addamortar™, Addacrete™.

Surface Defined

Most production machinery requires regular cleaning. A good housekeeping regime can reduce product contamination and therefore reduce costs as well as improve the overall appearance and safety of a factory or production facility.

Surfaces include stainless steel, enamel, plastics, metal and other industrial non- porous textures.

Main uses

Industrial equipment is mainly cleaned manually by using industrial vacuum cleaners and / or pressure washers.

Notes

The need to carry out machine clean-downs can be greatly reduced by installing good quality entrance matting and other barrier systems together with general housekeeping including mechanical sweeping and scrubbing.

There is a huge range of cleaning accessories to help speed up the cleaning process including specialist kits for overhead cleaning, boiler kits and crevice tools.

Surface Defined

Most industrial vessels require regular cleaning. Stainless steel is the main material used and may be contaminated by a wide variety of chemicals, food stuffs or solid materials.

The food preparation and processing industry demands strict adherence to hygiene rules and high efficiency.

Machine sumps also require periodic cleaning out to maintain performance of the machine.

Main uses

Vacuum cleaners and / or power washers are mainly used to clean industrial vessels manually.

Vessels are commonly used in food processing industries such as slaughterhouses, processing and packing plants, butchers, dairies, farms and breweries and garages.

Notes

Fixed installations can allow simultaneous multi-user cleaning operations.

Interior cleaning of tanks and refrigerated lories should be carried out using the following advice:
Detergent application, pressure washing, rinsing and disinfection.

Cleaning may be carried out at temperatures between 30 and 60 degrees Celsius with hot or cold water pressure washers. Accessories such as tank cleaners and foam lances are recommended to ease the applications, especially in difficult to reach places.
